Peter Alexander

Peter was appointed Chief Executive of Steelpipe in July 2010, having returned to New Zealand after 14 years in the UK. Under his leadership, Steelpipe has embarked on a programme of significant investment in people, systems and plant. Peter brings a wealth of experience to this role. His career spans infrastructure, construction, and corporate restructuring, including senior roles with construction group Laing O’Rourke, Le Meridien Hotels and Severn Trent Water. Peter’s expertise in business transformation has enabled Steelpipe to meet the challenges of lifting its capabilities to better meet our customers’ increasingly sophisticated requirements.

Peter is also Group Commercial Manager for Steelpipe’s parent, McConnell Group www.mcconnellgroup.co.nz

Peter has a BA and MCom from Otago, an MBA from London Business School and is a CFA charterholder.
