Steelpipe has a century-old engineering background, with facilities in New Zealand and Western Australia.
Our primary focus is the manufacture of high-quality spiral welded steel pipe for the reticulation of water and sewage, high-spec applications, and structural and foundation work.
- In Western Australia, Steelpipe’s Perth plant produces spiral welded steel pipe targeted at the Australian piling and structural markets.
- Steelpipe’s Auckland facility produces spiral welded pipe from three mills and the facility includes a concrete-lining, coating, hydrotesting and x-ray capabilities.
Over 100 years expertise manufacturing high quality, spiral welded steel pipe
Steelpipe has been at the forefront of pipe technology and innovation since it commenced trading as Spiral & Lock-Bar Steel Pipe Company of New Zealand Limited in 1903. Over the years the Company has refined its spiral forming process with the development of butt welded spiral pipe in the 1950s.
Today Steelpipe operates automatic double submerged arc welding, with world class non-destructive testing equipment, to produce pipes to the highest international standards for domestic and overseas markets.
Experience
In New Zealand, Steelpipe has manufactured thousands of kilometres of spiral welded pipe for town water supply, road and rail bridges and other structural piling applications. Pipes have also been supplied to many of the country’s hydroelectric, geothermal and other major energy projects.
The Australian mill, established in 2006, has added to this wealth of experience with its focus on the piling and structural markets Steelpipe has developed a strong reputation for consistently delivering top quality product, in full and on time.
Working with clients and subcontractors we can supply and fit pile shoes, clutch piles or other attachments to meet each client’s designs as well as offering a range of coating options.
